Welcome to the 2013-14 school year!

Welcome to our 2013-14 school year!  Nanwalek students will begin school on August 19, and will attend school from 9:00 – 3:30 each day.

After school opportunities will be announced once school begins.

Please find the school supply list on our website.  It is very important that students have indoor shoes for school. It is recommended that these shoes be appropriate for PE.

This year, Nancy Kleine will be a Regional Administrator.  She will be in Nanwalek four days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday), and Port Graham one day (Wednesday).  Please stop by the school anytime!

Please welcome new staff members! Ann Evans has been hired as our Title I/Title VII tutor.  Penny Bearden will teach secondary math/science and middle school PE.  Eric Schave will be the special education teacher.

There have also been changes in two staff assignments.  Sally Ash  is our Sugs’stun teacher, and Keith Seville will teach Foods I.  It’s wonderful to have versatile  staff members!

In addition to being an elementary teacher, Sonya Selanoff is an Administrative Intern this year.  We will be proud to see Sonya earn her advanced degree in education.

Nanwalek School has a site council that meets regularly each month.  Notices for meetings will be sent home.  Parents and community are encouraged to attend meetings.  The site council is an advisory committee that helps steer the direction of school policies.

Questions?  Please call the school starting August 7.  281-2210
